It was another Alinsky journalism moment – CNN’s Jim Acosta pressuring White House Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders last week to disavow Donald Trump’s statement that journalism is the “enemy of the people.”
“For the sake of this room, for the sake of this democracy, this country, all the people and this world are watching what you’re saying, Sarah,” Acosta pleaded before Sarah and the cameras gathered in the press room. “The president of the United States should not refer to us as the enemy of the people!”
Acosta was trying to paint Huckabee into a corner while pretending to defend the First Amendment right to freedom of the press. If Huckabee said no, that journalists are not the enemy of the people, then Acosta could further isolate Trump from his staff and world, with CNN able to blare to its viewers: “Trump’s own press secretary says he is wrong, that the press is not the enemy of the people.”
If Huckabee said yes, journalists are the enemy of the people, then CNN could spread that news, too, and further paint Trump as a tyrant at war with the First Amendment and a free press, linking him as a leader with dictators like Stalin, Mao or Hitler, even old Richard Nixon, who wanted to stifle a free press.
But Huckabee deflected the question, turning the attack back on Acosta.
“It’s ironic, Jim,” she said calmly, “that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric, when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country.
“Repeatedly, repeatedly, the media resorts to personal attacks without any content than to incite anger. The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network, saying I ‘should be harassed as a life sentence,’ that I ‘should be ‘choked’…when I was hosted by the correspondents dinner, of which all of you are members, you brought up a comedienne to attack my appearance and call me “a traitor to my own gender. As far as I know, I’m the first press secretary in the history of the United States that’s required Secret Service protection,” Huckabee said.
“The media continues to rachet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone one in this administration. And certainly, we have a role to play, but the media has a role to play in the discourse of this country as well.”
Huckabee was absolutely right, though none in the room of journalistic sheep would stand up in her defense or berate Acosta, the Alinsky demonizer. But because of our First Amendment and CNN being was a registered news organization, Acosta was allowed to ask his moronic question because he had White House press credentials and therefore allowed inside the press room. Yet Acosta and his Trump bashing colleagues are as far removed from fair, objective, unbiased journalism as, well, the rest of the hyenas in the newsroom at CNN.
Along with fellow vipers at the New York Times and The Washington Post, and other Trump-bashing internet news outlets, the CNN reporters are not journalists whose principally job is to report the news objectively and fairly and protect American democracy and the constitution from political corruption and tyranny, like we are led to believe is their job. They are mean gossip reporters out to get Trump, and hopefully replace him with a socialist approved by some people’s committee.
These Alinskyite socialist news people, molded by Barack Obama and his Chicago gang while in the White House, were set in place mainly at CNN, but spread now throughout the once mainstream media, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, many Washington-based internet media, with the sole purpose to bash the new, unwelcome capitalist in the Oval Office, and stir confusion and doubt and anger in Alinsky fashion, not objectively report the news.
These antagonists are not there to inform Americans and report the facts, so people can use their brains to understand the world better and make informed decisions come voting time – so essential to a democracy – but to spread doubt and fear and divide people – so essential to socialism.
The Alinskyites like Acosta are wolves in sheep’s clothing, pretending to be defenders of democracy and the constitution and a free press, pleading like an innocent child for clarity on the president’s position, for the sake of the nation, their fellow journalists, for democracy and the world.
But underneath his suit and tie and press credentials, Acosta and his brethren at CNN are wolves. They aren’t out to inform or clarify, but to get statements they can turn back on Trump, to further demonize him, to spread their fear and confusion and doubt and hopefully take down the Donald and install one of their own.
There have been moments in our history when the media has saved America and its constitution from corrupt politicians and tyrants, most notably in 1972 when two intrepid young reporters from the Washington Post tracked down the money trail that led to the Oval Office, where Richard Nixon and his “plumbers” where directing a elaborate scheme to take down his political opponents, and with it the rule of law.
That was journalism’s finest hour and still held up in many people mind’s as what journalism should be, two unbiased reporters seeking the truth. That image is still in our perception of journalists, and why we still want to believe someone like Jim Acosta is a person who is there to inform us and protect our freedoms from corrupt politicians and corrupt government.
But what CNN is doing – posing as real journalists and dishing manufactured, baseless dirt on the Donald, while at the same time not reporting and actually covering up the most massive political corruption scandal our history, led by our former leader Barack, who they still paint as some noble creature, when he was a worse wolf than all of them.
The only group chasing the Obama corruption story is a government watchdog group called Judicial Watch – as well as a few congressmen in the swamp of Washington – which has been using Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits to get documents reluctantly from the FBI and Justice Department, two once noble organizations, we thought, which were corrupted at the highest levels by the Obama Administration to help prevent Hillary from going to jail and try to derail the Donald, by creating a hatchet-job, anti-Trump dossier passed as real intelligence through all kinds of high-level FBI officials, then on to the appointment of a special counsel to investigate allegations of wrongdoing and collusion that everyone knew were baseless to begin with.
It’s a corruption story that the framers of the Constitution had in mind when they drew up the First Amendment and Free Press to protect us, giving journalists the awesome responsibility of saving and protecting our freedoms from sleazy politicians.
But you won’t hear about that kind of responsibility from the likes of Jim Acosta or the rest of CNN, though they pretend to carry and protect it. They’re too busy keeping the world safe for their press credentials so they can keep bashing the Donald and appoint a socialist of their choice.
