My all-time favorite news person when she was at CNBC was Erin Burnett, when she hosted the Squawk on the Street from the New York Stock Exchange. She was so engaging, so happy, so friendly, so smart, and so beautiful. Even among the savages at the NYSE, interviewing some Neanderthal trader or an uptight, arrogant corporate CEO, she was the most intelligent person in the room, and the most positive and engaging.
Erin was the kind of person who made you feel better and happy just listening to her, even if the stock market had tanked that day 500 points.
Now she’s with CNN and there’s been a transformation I can’t explain. She’s become mean spirited like everyone else at the network, especially when the name Trump comes up, which is just about every minute of every day. Erin has fit right in with the pack of shaming viper’s zeroing in after the Donald’s hide. And the way she looks at the camera? Holy smokes! Her eyes kind of glow. I just want to run and hide and ask questions later.
The only reason I can explain for the drastic and complete transformation in Erin’s demeanor and attitude is that during the new employee training at CNN, she was indoctrinated at some point with some kind of demonic Trump-hating ritual, then given her own time slot, because everyone there is all the same – looking into the camera, saying Trump’s name, and making us all wilt in shame if we even half like the guy.
That indoctrination ceremony would logically have originated with the people who created CNN in its current form – the Obama Administration, Trump haters all – who put many of the anchors and consultants onto the network before they left office, along with talking heads at many of the major news networks, before Hillary was so cruelly and unceremoniously dispatched by the American voter.
In fact, before the election, the CNN people were by and large happy as Erin was at CNBC, believing that Hillary would be anointed as they predicted, and life in the news business would go on without a hitch, completing the socialist dream world of inclusion and crushing debt that Barack had first started.
But then the Deplorables from small and rural towns, from industrial cities and farms who were never part of the Inclusion Dream, who didn’t like the high-unemployment and low wage growth under Barack, or didn’t like being squeezed by the over-regulated world being imposed on them, came out in unexpected record numbers and ruined Hillary’s ascension to the throne and installed the evil Donald.
Then the ebullient Hilary mood at CNN changed and everyone tooled up to do battle to remove the Donald. No matter that he was fairly elected in a democratic vote. In a socialist world, there is no real democracy, so off with his head, and CNN must lead the Crusade!
Now we all know by now that Barack was a disciple of Saul Alinsky and perhaps the most expert person in the world on Saul’s Rules for Radicals, which were designed back in the 1960s to take on and break up feudal, racist establishments such as Richard J. Daley’s Chicago. Alinsky’s whole strategy was “to rub raw the sores of discontent” to organize for radical social change.
CNN has used Alinsky’s rules flawlessly to go after the Donald, the two most important rules employed being (No. 12) “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”
The others Rules the network employs are No. 12 – “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions,” as well as Rule No. 8 – “Keep the pressure on. Never let up. Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new,” – thus the attack strategies shifting from a fake Russian Collusion hysteria, to old girlfriends getting paid off as a conspiracy, to charges of racism and sexism and white supremacy, to attacking his mental stability, to his appointees as being inept or corrupt.
Off and on they’ve gone after Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump’s wholesome, church-going press secretary, who wonderfully deflects the press-room vipers who want Donald’s hide, moving from one to the other without any anger or meanness – which most less restrained people would do – and pleasantly moves on.
As Erin noted the other day – the before lashing into Sanders for not getting her facts straight – Sarah is Trump’s closest and most trusted advisor, and as we know under Saul’s rule No. 12, must be taken down in order to further isolate the Donald.
So the Alinskyites have gone after Sarah just as relentlessly as they have the Donald. They brought out actor Jim Carray, as insane as any narcissist in Hollywood, to draw a devil caricature of Sarah and make it a national and internet news story for a week. They brought out Bill Maher, who is apparently considered the left’s beacon of integrity and truth, to bash her integrity. Then, most notably, they brought out Michelle Wolf – who looks like she could get the one of the opening roles in Macbeth without auditioning – to attack Sarah at before a room of noble journalists at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner.
Now once beautiful, sweet, intelligent, engaging Erin Burnett has joined the vipers to go after the Donald and Sarah, not realizing or caring that the person she used to be was the reason we watched her in the first place.
But I don’t apologize, Erin. I still say you were the most refreshing person, male or female, the most genuine, the nicest person on television and your attitude helped make my day. I’m going to stick to that, and think it was the real you, and not just an act.
